Abstract

The writer got two conclusions from the discussion in the previous chapter. The first conclusion is taken from point 3.1 about the Methods Used in Translating Booklet in Dinas Pariwisata Kota Denpasar. Based on the writer observation, Booklet of Denpasar by Dinas Pariwisata Kota Denpasar uses four translation methods such as word-for-word translation, faithful translation, machine translation and adaptation translation. Word-for-word translation is used to translate cultural word or word which are difficult to be translated for example “Jatuh” become “falls”. Faithful translation is used to translate the text without changing the structures of the text from source language to target language.The one of methods which had been explained is machine translation. This method is really helpful for translators to translate the text, but it has two editing processes: Pre-editing and Post-editing. The translators must use these editing processes to prevent any grammatical errors or misunderstanding while using machine translation. Methods of translation by Newmark was really helping the writer to write this final report. The writer got obstacles in time management to do observation because the writer was given work most of the day. To overcome the obstacles, the writer did observation on the last week of the internship period.
