Abstract

From the previous chapter I can conclude that there were two major types of news that I used during the internship which were primary and secondary source. Therefore, interviewing the secondary sources was easier than the primary ones and most of the secondary source was coming from ordinary people.An intern is not really get the privilege to do an exclusive interview with powerful figures. It is because in The Jakarta Post an intern is not officially required to write, but I decided to do so because I wanted some experiences which got approved by my mentor. Since I was in City Desk which produces urban news and having ordinary people was common. It does not work the same if I were placed in Nasional Desk because the newsworthy people can be from several layer of socical status. The next is there were two major methods that I used in gathering information for news sources which were from online information and interview.There two common websites that I used whcih were KOMPAS and Berita Jakarta. Also, I got to interview newsworthy people to get further information regarding the news story. Having to interview different types of people have helped to get to know how to handle people and also I got to learn that being a person who lives in digital era bring so much use for my life. I could not get easy way to get the methods of gathering information for news sources without the help of internet.
