Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determined the effect of different time of artificial insemination on the pregnancy rates of Prostaglandin F2a synchronized fat tailed sheep. This study used experiment research. Twenty fat tailed sheeps were used in this experiment. Hormon that used for estroes synchronization is Prostaglandin F2a. Two injection of Prostaglandin F2a 11 days apart were employed inthis experiment and at a dose of 8 mg for each sheep. The sheeps were divided into three groups, each group consisted of seven sheeps. The first group, the first artificially inseminated at the 36" hour after second Prostaglandin F2a injection. The second groups, the first artificially inseminated at the 48" hour after second Prostaglandin F2a injection. The third group, the first artificially inseminated at the 60" hour after second Prostaglandin F2a injection. Artificially inseminated were repeat after 12 hours on each sheep from each treatment. The Chi-sguare analysis result showed that second group has highest pregnancy rates, that 7 out of 7 (10096) of fat tailed sheep artificially inseminated 48 hours after second Prostaglandin F2a injection were pregnant Keywords: Artificial Insemination, Fat Tailed Sheep, Pregnancy rates
