Abstract

Indonesia is the third largest country in the world for vaname shrimp exporter after Thailand and China (Center for Data, Statistics and Information, 2011). An increase in volume of shrimp exports vaname currently affected by rising demand for shrimp in global market. Based on data from the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) in 2010 also showed that Indonesia was ranked fourth in the world with a total export of 140,000 tonnes of shrimp vaname in 2007. Statistics datas of Marine and Fisheries (2012), the volume of shrimp production in 2012 increased by 3.78% compared to the year 2011, or reach 415.517 tonnes in 2011 compared to shrimp production volume amounted to 400.386 tonnes. Increased vaname shrimp production intensively also increases the amount of feed use so that offset by the utilization of plankton system technology for forming plankton in the pond environment. The purpose of this Field Work Practice is to learn and practice the rearing techniques of vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) intensively with plankton system technology. Knowing the problems faced in rearing vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) intensively with plankton system technology, also knowing the prospect of rearing the vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) intensively with plankton system technology. Field Work Practice was held at the CV. Aneka usaha,Desa Jenu, Kecamatan Jenu, Kabupaten Tuban, Provinsi Jawa Timur on 12 January to 12 February 2015. The method used were descriptive method and retrieval of datas through observation, actived participation and interviews and the type of data used were primary datas and secondary datas. Activities in vaname shrimp rearing (Litopenaeus vannamei) in intensive pond with plankton technology systems included pond preparation with the size (69x45x2) m2, shrimp seed selection and stocking, feeding, water quality control, prevention pests and diseases, harvesting. Water quality control in intensive pond systems with plankton system technology temperature reached 30-31°C, DO (Dissolved Oxygen) 5 ppm, salinity 29-30ppm and pH 7-8, and brightness reaches 30-45 cm. Feeding as many as four times a day was usingpellets and additional feed probiotics. Pest prevention was done by giving saponins.Harvesting was done on shrimp that have reached 82 days. Prospects in the vanameshrimp rearing using intensive pond systems with plankton technology obtained R/C of1.06, which means that every single rupiah spent will obtain money Rp 1.06. Paybackperiod (PP) was 4.43 years, Break Event Point (BEP) price of Rp 32.467. With BEPproduction of 5494.38Kg.
