Abstract

Prostitution in the Wonokromo rail station is illegal prostitution with cheap rates with half an open body, which is one of the illegal prostitution in the city of Surabaya. The establishment of a lokalisasi near the Wonokromo Sub-district Police Station indicates the existence of a relationship to be able to carry out this prostitution in Surabaya Kota which is also on the Wonokromo railroad station for 38 years. In terms of power relations, these pimps have a relationship with other actors who work together, namely prostitutes, thugs, law enforcement officers and KAI members to support the success of prostitution. This research supports (1) What is the relation of the power of pimps in prostitution on the Wonokromo Surabaya railroad station, (2) How is the social practice in prostitution sustainable eating on the Wonokromo Surabaya railroad station? This research uses qualitative by discussing phenomenology. Informants in this study were selected using snowball techniques. In this study, Pierre Bourdieu's theory of social practice was used to study the dominance of pimps with their relations in which the roles, functions, position and position of commercial sex workers were subordinated by the system made by pimps. The aim of pimps is only to look for material benefits, but winning a prostitute only has the capital to be able to be traded for customers to be able to buy rooms at pimps. With the results of a study of the relations of authority of pimps with commercial sex workers, thugs, law enforcement officers and KAI members in the regulation of the continuity of the practice of prostitution. The practice of prostitution is characterized by the existence of habitus and capital owned by pimps in question in one domain so that pimps who have dominant capital will be increasingly oppressive needing the prostitute.
