Abstract

This research aimed to know the potential of antioxidant of moringa leaves to motility and viability of white rat spermatozoa that exposed by high temperature. This research was using 25 of 2,5 months old rats with 200 gram body weight in average. There was 5 treatment groups with five rats each. K- as control, was not given high temperature exposure and moringa leaves extract. K+ as control, was given high temperature exposure (40OC for an hour) and without moringa leaves extract. P1, P2, and P3 were given high temperature exposure (40OC for an hour) and given 100 mg/kgBW (P1), 200 mg/kg BW (P2), 400 mg/kg BW (P3) of moringa leaves extract which disolved with CMC-Na 1%. The result showed that moringa leaves extract could maintain motility and viability of rat spermatozoa. The result which was the closest to normal was shown in P3.
