Abstract

Gingival recession is an migration of the gingival margin towards the apical of cemento enamel junction characterized by the exposure of the root surface. Gingival recession is a problem that can interfere with aesthetics, besides gingival recession is also associated with tooth hypersensitivity and root caries. A 26 year old female patient referred to periodontics clinic, Airlangga Dental College and Hospital, Surabaya complaining of sensitivity in lower tooth and the gum looks receding so she wants to be treated. In the clinical examination, Miller’s class-I gingival recession noticed in relation to 31, 3 mm in the buccal area. Various of periodontal surgical procedures that can be used to treat gingival recession include coronally advanced flap (CAF). To improve the results of better treatment, in this case using a regenerative material called platelet rich fibrin (PRF). PRF is a second generation autologous platelet concentrace obtained from the patient’s venous blood with simplified processing which is rich of growth factor. PRF can increase accelerate soft tissue wound healing. The gingival recession in this case report, was treated using coronally advanced flap with PRF.
