Abstract

This research aims were to give evidences that parasitostatic effect of artemisinin to growth of Plasmodium falcifarum 307 strain intraerythrocytic stages in vitro. This research was done in three stages.,asfollows ; 1.In-vitro culture of P.falci parum 307 strains and synchronize 2. Treated Plasmodium falc iparum 307strains by exposure of artemisinin (IC50 concentration) 3. Observed for growth of P.falci parum 307strain with Flow cytometry. The result research was asfollows ; the normal growth of P.falci parum 307 strain intraerythrocytic stages in control group with increase para sitemia. In treated with exposure of IC50 artemisinin after 24 and 48 hours incubation showed decrease growth parasite with decrease paras itemia. As a conclusion, the artemisinin has a parasitostatic effect togrowth of Plasmodium falcifarum 307 strain intraerythrocytic stages in vitro.
