Abstract

First of all, what the writer attempts to reveal in this final report is about the journalistic process in International News of Jawa Pos. There are three steps of journalistic process, namely seeking sources, processing the journalistic sources to be news, and the last is reporting the news. The first problem statement represents the first step of journalistic process, while the second problem statement represents the second step of journalistic process. In the first problem statement, the writer concluded all of the news sources fulfilled fundamental news values; furthermore, there were three news values applied the most in choosing suitable news to be news sources. Those are actuality, human interest and proximity. Additionally, in the second problem statement, what the writer as intern journalist did was to transform the source language into target language. During the process, the writer had to be careful in extending information or adjusting information since the writer had to reproduce the source text author’s intended meaning into appropriate language style of the target language.
