Abstract

Induction of protective immunity through the parasite endogenous development and oocyst production during challenge test due to the previous E. maxima low doses exposure was studied. Forty five broilers were divided into 3 groups. Group 1: chickens were administered aquadest. Group 2 and 3: chickens were inoculated with 100 & 200 E. maxima oocysts, respectively. Fourteen days after 1st infection, each group was challenged with 5000 E. maxima oocysts. Post challenge of 4 days the endogenous development of parasites, oocysts production was calculated. The endogenous development of parasites has decreased as a result of protective immunity due to first antigen exposure so that multiplication of parasites became decreased.
