Abstract

This research is to study and identify the presence of parasites on the milk fish in Sedati District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. 71 samples of milkfish were dissected at the Laboratory of the Department of Parasitology, Airlangga University. The inspection process uses native methods, sedimentation, fluotation method, and blood vessels. While the coloring and identification using Semichen-Acetic Carmine. The results showed that of the 71 samples taken, there were 3 samples of milkfish infested with Anisakis sp, and 5 samples of fish infested with Rhadinorhynchus sp. The results showed that there were parasitic infestations in milkfish in traditional ponds in Sedati Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. Measurement of water quality parameters in three traditional ponds in milkfish farming shows that water quality can still be tolerated by aquatic organisms. The presence of endoparasites is related to the type of natural food used in aquaculture activities, such as water fleas and worms given as natural feed can be a host between of this parasite.
