Abstract

The study aims to find out differences hardness tablets for ruminants, dogs, cats, and poultries. This study used 40 sample tablets from veterinary drug pharmacies whose research was conducted at The Pharmacy Veterinary Science Laboratory of Veterinary Medicine, Airlangga University. The tablet hardness data was taken from scala tablet hardness tester YD-1. The Tablets studied are multivitamin and anthelmintic the recorded hardness value of veterinary medicines is then taken on average. Data will be analyzed by ANOVA one way using SPSS version 25 (IBM). The result showed value tablet hardness of ruminants 20 ± 0,00 kg stockes, dogs 3,12 ± 1,67 kg stockes; cats 3,43 ± 0,58 kg stockes; and poultries 4,85 ± 4,70 kg stockes, the hardness of animal medicine tablets for ruminants is greater than the value of hardness for animal medicine tablets for dogs, cats, and poultries which have almost the same value for both. The hardness value of tablets for dogs has a difference that is not far from cats, whereas in poultries the value of hardness has a difference that is quite high with dogs and cats. The high hardness of animal medicine tablets in poultry shows that the pressure and nature of the tablet material can increase the hardness of the tablet. Besides that highest hardness of animal medicine tablets in ruminants because capacity maximum of the tools is 20 kg stockes and so it can not be read. Based on these results there is a difference in hardness tablet hardness for ruminants, dog, cat, and poultry have registered level of hardness tablet from Indonesia Republic government.
