Abstract
The purpose of this research is to validate the method for analysis of 11 organochlorine residues in Centella asiatica using gas chromatography (GC) coupled with flame ionization detector (FID). The sample was prepared using QuEChERS method with acetonitrile-acetic acid-water (94:1:5, v/v) as extraction solvent. Primary secondary amine (PSA), graphitized carbon black (GCB), and magnesium sulphate (MgSO4) was used as sorbent in cleanup process. The method results showed the calibration curve linearity was r2 ≥ 0,995 for all analytes. The ranges of limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantitation (LOQ) were 0,003-0,301 ppm and 0,009-1,005 ppm respectively. The recoveries of nine organochlorines were in the acceptance ranges between 70-120% with RSD < 15%, while the other two were out of acceptance range. The conclusion is that this method was valid for nine organochlorine residues. These results showed that the method needs more improvement in sample preparation process.
