Abstract

Organochlorine is a toxic pesticide that can contaminate herbal plant, included ginger, because it can leave residual for herbal plant. It is important to analyze organochlorine pesticide residue for quality control of ginger. This study will discuss about method validation of gas chromatography with flame ionization detector for analyzing of organochlorine residues in ginger rhizome. Sample preparation method performed by QuEChERS method using acetonitrile: water: acetic acid (94: 5: 1) as solvent extraction followed by clean-up process with dSPE using PSA and GCB. Obtained ginger rhizome extract will be analyzed using gas chromatography-flame ionization detector (GC-FID). This method is only analysis four kinds of organochlorine pesticide, which is aldrin, heptachlor epoxide, endosulfan 1, p’p-DDE, and p’p-DDD. Validation of this method has good selectivity (Rs>1.5). Linearity of parameters showed a linear relationship with a correlation coefficient (r2)>0.995. Respectively, limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantitation (LOQ) value in the range between 0.15-0.29 ppm and 0.51-0.96 ppm. The average percent recovery ranges from 51.44-84.74% with % KV of 3.30-16.92%. But only, endosulfan 1 precision and accuracy parameter out of the requirement limit
