Abstract
This study aims to reveal the consumption pattern in Nest-Clan Fortnite Community. The investigation of the consumption pattern concerned about the meaning toward the virtual items in Fortnite game. Fortnite is becoming popular because their unique virtual items. With the biggest of amount players online every day, it encourages the players to build up the community. In Indonesia, one of the biggest communities of Fortnite video games is Nest-Clan Community. This community was established in 11 July 2017 with more than 100 active members. To achieve this goal, the researcher used a qualitative method. The data were collected by purposive sampling with depth interview to the members of the community. Furthermore, the data are analyzed by using Featherstone consumption pattern theory. This study found that the consumption pattern of the members for buying the virtual items is not based on what they need and do not thinks about the values just to show their prestige and Wealth. The result of this study is expected to be beneficial for online game studies in terms of consumption pattern of virtual items.
