Abstract

This research aimed to know the repellency of etanol extract of Rosemary leaf (Rosmarinus officinalis) against mosquito Aedes aegypti. This research used six hundred twenty five adult female mosquitoes. This research was designed by completely randomized design. All of population of the mosquitoes were divided into five groups, consist five repetitions each, namely K(-), K(+), P1, P2 and P3. Group K(-) was given gel 1 gram without extract, group K(+) was given mosquito lotion (Soffel ®), treatment groups P1, P2 and P3 were given gel 1 gram and etanol extract of Rosemary leaft at a dose 25%, 50% and 75%. Based on statistical data analysis using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) it showed significant different (p<0.05). The results showed that etanol of Rosemary leaf at a concentration of 75% had a repellency capacity of 100%. The greater the concentration of Rosemary leaf extract, the greater the repellency capacity obtained.
