Abstract
This study was undertaken to determine the in vitro antibakterial activities of essential oil from cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmannii) on Methicillinresistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated from raw milk. Essential oil from Cinnamomum burmannii obtained from steam distillation method and essential oil was made in a series dilution with a concentration of 1%, 2%, 4% and 8% (vol/vol). The antibakterial activities were tested using disk diffusion method. Results showed Cinamommum burmannii essential oil has antibacterial activity so that it can inhibit MRSA growth. The concentration of Cinamommum burmannii 4% and 8% are effective to against MRSA and it is development as phytopharmaca.
