Abstract

The purpose of this reasech is to understand a phenomena about how achievement motive can affect bussines success on small micro enterpreneursjip in Surabaya. The research was conducted with the subject of three people, consisting of actors, Micro, Small in Surabaya Municipality is successful in entrepreneurship activities. In accordance with the type of research, which is qualitative, then the determination of subjects to collect data using purposive sampling method, where the decision was not made on the basis of the subject strata, random or region, but based on specific goals. The number of subjects in this study were three people, because penilitian kualitaitf seek to understand the perspective and context in-depth study, so it tends to do with the number of cases slightly. Data collection tool that is used for extracting data in this study the interviews and documents. Analysis of the data used in this study is the author of thematic analysis. The use of thematic analysis allows researchers to find a 'pattern' that others do not see it clearly. Patterns or themes that appear randomly in the stack as the information available. After finding a pattern ("seing"), will clarify or meng'encode 'pattern ("seeing as") with the label, definition or description. From the analysis of data, the authors can interpret how achievement motivation, entrepreneurship plays a role in the success of the Micro, Small players in Surabaya Municipality. The perpetrators of Micro, Small, who succeeded in entrepreneurship are those who also own a high need for achievement, I can understand someone who is successful at least in the self-employment, that individual will also have the need for high achievement motivation in developing a business.
