Abstract

This study aims to describe self-regulated learning in undergraduate students who can not finish the undergraduate thesis within one semester at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Airlangga. Zimmerman (1986) describes the self-regulated learning as an individual's c1bility to be actively involved in learning activities independently. Zimmerman (1989) also explains that a self regulated learner is a learner that implement learning strategies to achieve learning goals. This study will describe the self-regulated learning of undergraduate students who cail not finish the undergraduate thesis within one semester using a scale which compiled independently by the author. The scale has 38 items with a reliability coefficient of 0.921. This research is a quantitative research using descriptive method with 115 subjects. The number of subjects is the result of a sample calculation from the total population of 161 students who can not finish the undergraduate thesis within one semester at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Airlangga. The results showed that 60,87% of the subjects has middle level of self regulated learning, 32,17% of the subjects has high level, and 6.96% of the subjects has low level of self-regulated learning. In line with the category of self regulated learning in general level, the majority of undergraduate students when described from the aspect of personal, behavioral, and environmental. The majority are in the middle level of self-regulated learning as well.
