Abstract

Background: Oral Hygiene status is expressed in periodontal diseases prevalence, which generally caused by poor oral hygiene, i.e plaque accumulation. Some studies have shown that prevalence of periodontal disease is still high in Indonesia. Primary Heallth Care is the first health care that achivable by community, so that, primary health care is expected can decrease dental problem in community. Purpose: The aim of this study is to get information about oral hygiene status of patients in Pucang Sewu Primary Health Center. Method: This research is an descriptive observasional. There are 100 patients that are studied. Simple random sampling is used in this research. This research use OHI-S Index and questionnaire. The data are showed in table and percentage and analyzed using cross tabulation. Results: The result of this study showed that 89% subjects had good oral hygiene, 11% had fair oral hygiene and no one had poor oral hygiene. Conclusion: Most of patients in Pucang Sewu Primary Health Center had good oral hygiene. Good oral hygiene more often found in age 17- 23 years old female, graduate from senior highschool and brushing their teeth 2 times a day.
