Abstract

Natural medicines are commonly used by Indonesian society, such as infants, children, and adults. However, previous studies showed the lack of mother's knowledge regarding the safety, benefits, and how to use natural medicines on their children. To improve mothers' knowledge, conducting an education intervention design by arranging appropriate preimplementation stages that consist of education media arrangement and a feasible knowledge measurement instrument is necessary. This study aimed to discover education media arrangement and knowledge measurement instrument arrangement to measure mothers' knowledge improvement. This study used the Research and Development method. This study's stages were potential and problem identification, cereals collection, design creation, and education media and knowledge measurement instrument validation, and revision. Education media used were PowerPoint and booklets for the lecture method, discussion guidelines for the group discussion method, and questionnaires for the knowledge improvement measurement arranged based on the Research and Development procedure. Based on this study, the future study can conduct an initial trial to mass production stages so that the resulting product is declared effective to be used on education intervention implementation of mothers' knowledge improvement regarding natural medicines in the Tulungagung area.
