Abstract

A review article has been carried out on the Effect of Polyvinyl Alcohol Addition on the Formation of β -Tricalcium Phosphate Nanofiber by Sol-Gel and Electrospinning Methods. The article review was carried out in order to see the effect of adding Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) on the formation of nanofibers, especially on β-Tricalcium Phosphate. Nanofibers can be applied in the medical field, such as bone scaffold and guide bone regeneration (GBR). The sol-gel method is used to synthesize sol β-TCP and then use electrospinning for the formation of nanofibers. This article compares several nanofiber results based on the characterization carried out by the SEM test, FTIR test and XRD test and discusses some of the differences in the results of these studies. Based on the results of a literature study in the form of a journal review, it was successful to obtain nanofibers from a mixture of PVA and β-TCP composites which after being characterized using SEM showed homogeneous morphological results of fine nanofibers and were successfully obtained with AFD in the range of 250 nm.
