Abstract
This study aims to find out the levels of Blood Urea Nitrogren (BUN) and creatinine from rat blood serum (Rattus norvegicus) strain of wistar infected by Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria. Subjects were 20 male rats (Rattus norvegicus) wistar strains aged 6 – 8 weeks. K is not infected with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria but injected with physiological NaCl 0.9%, P1 infected with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria dose 1.5 x 107 CFU/ml, P2 infected with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria dose 1.5 x 108 CFU/ml, P3 infected with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria dose 1.5 x 109 CFU/ml, each injection 1 ml /tail /IP. Seven days after infection, blood samples were taken through cardiac punction (3 ml) for examination of Blood Urea Nitrogren (BUN) and creatinine levels. Both parameters were examined with the Clinical Chemistry Analizer Pentra C200 tool. P2 and P3 significantly different with controls; among P1, P2, and P3 significantly different in Blood Urea Nitrogren (BUN) examinations. P1, P2, and P3 significantly different from controls; but only between P2 and P3 significantly different on creatinine examination. The average Blood Urea Nitrogren (BUN) is above the normal limit (15 – 21 mg/dL) while the average creatinine content is still within the normal limit (0.2 – 0.8 mg/dL).
