Abstract

The aimsof this study was to determine the types of gastrointestinal endoparasitic species that infect pigs, and to calculate the prevalence rate of pig digestive tract endoparasite infections in Kromengan, Malang. This research was conducted with 120 samples of pig faeces aged 1-3 months, 4-10 months and 1-2 years. Stool samples were examined using the native method, sedimentation, and Fulleborn flotation. From the results obtained, it could be concluded that the nematode worms that infect the digestive tract of pigs include Ascaris suum 45%, Strongyloides 44,2%, Trichuris suis 30,8%, Balantidium coli 31,6%, Eimeria sp 42,5%The prevalence of nematode infection in the digestive tract of pigs in Malang Regency is 92.5%. The results of the analysis of sex data on the prevalence of parasites in pig faeces using the Chi-square test showed that there was no significant effect of sex on the prevalence of parasites in pig feces in Kromengan, Malang (p> 0.05). Chi-square analysis of age data on the prevalence of parasites in pig faeces showed that age had a significant effect on the prevalence of parasites in pig faeces in Kromengan, Malang (p <0.05).
