Abstract

The purpose of this research is to finding the effectiveness of electric mat of ekor kucing’s (Acalypha hispida) leaf extract towards mortality of adult Aedes aegypti and also identifiying lethal concentration and lethal time. 525 adult Ae. aegypti with age range 2-5 day were devided into seven treatments. The observation of mortality was done every ten minutes at the first hour and every thirty minutes at the second and the third hour. Adult Ae. aegypti were dead if there was no movement. The data was analyzed using kruskal wallis and followed by Z test. The result showed there were significant difference between group (p<0,05). Probit analysis stated that LC50 be reached by using the 47,53% concentration in two hour and 39,56% in three hour. LC95 reached by using 64,68% concentration in two hour and 57,17% in three hour. Fastest time to reach LT50 is 1,99 hour and LT95 is 4,11 hour after treated using 90% concentration. The conclusion of this research is ekor kucing leaf extract in an electric mat less effective because the highest percentage of mortality in 24 hours is 78,68%, below 90-100% as the effective percentage standart from the pesticide commission.
