Abstract
The aim of this study to prove that there are differences in the morphometrical size of male and female muscovy duck skulls. This study used male and female duckling aged 2 weeks, 4 weeks 6 weeks, and 8 weeks. The number of samples in this study was 10 male duck each age and 10 female duck each age and for total was 80 duck. skull and its meat were separated with NaOH 3% solution through the boiling process. Measurement skull of the Cairina moschata was using a digital caliper with 0.02 mm precision. The measurement result was processed by the split plot method on SPSS. The result of this study were differences in skull length, skull width, skull height, mandible length, bill length, and bill width. The Skull of the male Cairina moschata was bigger in skull length, skull width, skull height, mandible length, bill length, and bill width in every age group. The growth differential between male and female Carina moschata caused by the hormonal difference which in male duck were hormone called testosterone which stimulates growth hormone which causes male duck to grow faster and bigger than female.
