Abstract

The aims of this research work was to determine the antibacterial activity of meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri Linn.) to against Salmonella pullorum. This research used a dilution method consisting of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) which the concentration that can inhibit bacterial growth and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) the concentration that can kill bacteria. This study used 5 treatments and 4 replications. The concentration of meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri Linn.) Consists of 5%, 10%, 20%, 40% and the appropriate dose of Tylosin in the product and the data were processed by using Probit analysis to know a Lethal Concentration 50 (LC50) value. The results showed that the extract of meniran (Phyllanthus niruri Linn.) had the ability to be antibacterial against Salmonella pullorum with Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) 10% and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) 20% and a Lethal Concentration 50 (LC50) value at a concentration of 14.118% against Salmonella pullorum.
