Abstract
Grit merupakan variabel non kognitif yang terdiri atas konsistensi minat dan ketekunan usaha untuk meraih tujuan jangka panjang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji model teoritik grit pada mahasiswa pendidikan profesi dokter di Indonesia yang menggambarkan pengaruh academic locus of control, hope, meaning in life, hope, serta positive thinking skill terhadap grit. Subjek penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa pendidikan profesi dokter aktif yang telah melalui program profesi dokter minimal satu tahun ataupun yang telah menyelesaikan program profesi dokter, atau sedang menunggu ujian kompetensi profesi dokter. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari 527 responden yang berasal dari 55 program studi penyelenggara program profesi dokter di Indonesia. Pengambilan data menggunakan metode survei melalui pengisian skala grit, academic locus of control, hope, meaning in life, dan positive thinking skill yang telah melalui proses adaptasi. Analisis data penelitian ini dengan menggunakan metode Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) dengan bantuan software Lisrel 9.10. Hasil pengujian model grit dari penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif yang signifikan antara external academic locus of control dan internal academic locus of control, presence for meaning, hope, dan positive thinking skill terhadap grit. Hasil positif dan signifikan ditunjukkan dari pengaruh external academic locus of control dan internal academic locus of control terhadap grit secara langsung, maupun melalui positive thinking skill sebagai variabel mediator. Sementara itu, searching for meaning memiliki pengaruh yang negatif terhadap grit.
