Abstract

This research was aimed to determine whether white male rats (Rattusnorvegicus)strainwistarinfectedwithAeromonashydrophilaexperiencedanincrease in SGPT and SGOT. SGPT and SGOT enzyme levels are indicators thatcan be used to detect liver damage. Used as many as 20 rats aged 6 - 8 weeksweighing 160-220 grams were made into four groups. P0 is not infected withAeromonashydrophilabacteriabutinjectedwithphysiologicalNaCl0.9%,P1infected with Aeromonas hydrophilabacteria dose 1.5 x 107CFU/ml, P2 infectedwithAeromonashydrophilabacteriadose1.5x108CFU/ml,P3infectedwithAeromonas hydrophila bacteria dose 1.5 x 109 CFU/ml, each injection 1 ml /tail /IP.Oneweekaftertreatment,bloodsamplesweretakenintracardiallyandthencentrifuged tocollectserum. SGPT and SGOTbloodserum levelswere readusing an automatic biochemical analyzer. The results obtained indicate that SGPTwas not increased while SGOT was increased but both levels were still withinnormallimits.
