Abstract

Test of the number of erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets can use the method of impedance and flowcytometry. The impedance method is a cell measurement based on the size of the cell, the cell will be read when it passes between two electrodes, while the flowcytometry method measures the cell by firing a laser beam into each cell that passes through the gap and is able to read the cell size to the composition of the cell. The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in the examination of the number of erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets with an automatic hematology device, impedance and flowcytometry methods. The method in this study is an analytical observational method with a design cross sectional. This research was carried out at the Clinical Laboratory of Delta Surya Hospital and the Clinical Pathology Laboratory of Balai Besar Clinical Laboratory with 30 samples to check the number of erythrocytes, leukocytes, and platelet. Data processing using MedCalc and SPSS 25.0. by paired t test and Wilcoxon. The results of the difference in examination using the flowcytometry and impedance method on the leukocyte count with a value of asymp. Sig of 0.009 < 0.05, platelet count obtained value Aymp.sig of 0.002 < 0.05, while The results obtained that the number of erythrocytes obtained a value of two tailed probabilityy is 0.001 < 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there are significant differences in the results of the examination of platelets, erythrocytes and leukocytes using the impedance and flowcytometry methods.
