Abstract

Chronic kidney failure is a condition caused by a slow decline in kidney function and lasts for approximately 3 months. Patients with chronic renal failure may experience a decrease in hemoglobin levels due to reduced production of the hormone erythropoietin. Hemodialysis is one of the renal function replacement therapy. In chronic kidney failure, many complications occur after hemodialysis therapy, one of which is anemia. The hemoglobin concentration test can be used to assess the severity of anemia. This study aims to determine the description of hemoglobin levels of patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis. The method used in this research is descriptive observation with secondary data as the result of hemoglobin levels in patients with kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis. The population of this study were all hemodialysis patients with a diagnosis of chronic kidney failure in the 2020 period, which consisted of 50 samples. The secondary data that has been obtained were analyzed by univariate analysis and then presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. The results of this study obtained that patients with chronic kidney failure who underwent hemodialysis were mostly 40-60 years old with the most gender being male, the average patient undergoing hemodialysis was >12 months. by gender, the hemoglobin level of men is higher than that of women, namely 7.8 g/dl, based on the age of patients with the age of 40-60 having the lowest level of 7.2 g/dl, based on the length of hemodialysis of patients undergoing hemodialysis >12 months had the lowest level of 7.6 g/dl, based on medical history, patients with a history of chronic anemia had a low hemoglobin level of 5.7 g/dl. In conclusion, on average, chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at RSUD Ibnu Sina Gresik have hemoglobin levels below normal with moderate severity of anemia.
