Abstract
Luka adalah keadaan hilangnya beberapa jaringan yang ada dalam tubuh. Luka seringkali dialami oleh manusia maupun hewan dengan tingkat keparahan yang berbeda beda. Tipe sel predominan di awal proses penyembuhan luka fase inflamasi adalah polimorfonuklear (PMN), fungsi primer dari sel PMN adalah untuk mencegah infeksi dan menghilangkan debris dengan mengeluarkan protein dan enzim lain ke dalam luka. Fibroblas merupakan sel dominan pada fase proliferasi, fibroblas mensintesis kolagen sebagai unsur utama Extra Cellular Matrix (ECM) yang penting pada penyembuhan luka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi krim ekstrak ethanol daun Gedi Merah (Abelmoschus manihot (L) Medik) dalam menurunkan jumlah sel polimorfonuklear (PMN) serta fibroblas terhadap proses penyembuhan luka insisi pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus). Dua puluh lima ekor tikus putih (Rattus novegicus) jantan dibagi menjadi lima kelompok perlakuan dengan jumlah enam ulangan setiap kelompok
