Abstract

This report aims to identify the strategies used and the criteria applied to approach the equivalence level in translating PT Pelindo Energi Logistiks’ Procurement Document. The output of this report, the writer used qualitative methods to answer both statement of problems. The writer used Baker’s theory which was written in In Other Words A Course Book of Translation as a guide for the writer in analyzing the translation results. In case of the strategy, the writer found four out of eight strategies. They consist of Cultural Substitution, Loan Word Plus Explanation, Omission, A More General Word. Meanwhile, the criteria to approach the equivalence level covers Equivalence At Word Level, Equivalence Above Word Level, Grammatical Equivalence, Textual Equivalence, Textual Equivalence:Cohesion, And Pragmatic Equivalence.
