Abstract

This study entitled Strategies and Methods Used in Translating 2019 Annual Report of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IX. The source of data was the 2019 Annual Report of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IX, from Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 4 and Chapter 5. The data of this research contains a lot of terms related to business and agribusiness. The data were analyzed by several steps including classifying, analysing, and observing. The writer applied six translation strategies stated by Baker (1992), they were translation by a more general word, translation by a more neutral / less expressive word, translation by using cultural substitution, translation by using loan word or loan word plus explanation, translation by using unrelated word, and translation by omission. The writer also used three translation methods by Newmark (1998), they was literal translation, communicative translation, and adaptation translation.
