Abstract
This study aims to know the potential of meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri L.) on feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio of broilers infected by Salmonella pullorum. The study used broiler chicks with the strain Cobb 500 for 20 animals. Group P0- was not infected by Salmonella pullorum and it was not given meniran extract. Group P0+ was infected by Salmonella pullorum and it was not given meniran extract. Groups P1, P2 and P3 was infected by Salmonella pullorum and treated by meniran extract at a dose of 5%, 10%, 20% respectively for two weeks. The results were analyzed by ANOVA and followed by Games-Howell test and showed that feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio were significantly affected (p<0.05). Feed consumption results of P0- and P0+ shows not significantly difference. P0- dan P0+ is significantly different from P1. P0- is significantly different from P2. P0- is not significantly different from P3. P1, P2, P3 is not significantly different. Body weight gain results of P0- and P0+ shows not significantly difference. P0- is significantly different from P1, P2, P3. P1 is significantly different from P3. P2 is not significantly different from P1, P3. P0+ is not significantly different from P1, P2, P3. Feed conversion ratio results of P0- dan P3 is not significantly different. P0- is significantly different from P0+, P1, P2. P3 is significantly different from P0+, P1, P2. The best result of meniran extract is treatment using the highest dose that is 20%.
