Abstract

The experiment was conducted to determine the effect of replenishment Centella asiatica extract and Lactobacillus acidophilus on total cholesterol and triglyceride levels in duck blood. There are 20 male hybrid ducks which are kept intensively for 6 weeks. This research was structured as a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) divided into 4 treatment groups randomly P0 (control), P1 (1% extract and L. acidophilus 108 cel/ml), P2 (2% extract and L. acidophilus 108 cel/ml) and P3 (1% extract and L acidophilus 108 cel/ml). The parameters measured were total cholesterol and blood triglycerides. Blood samples were taken in the last week of the study. The results showed that the Centella asiatica extract was significantly different (p<0.05) between the control group and the treatment group. It can be concluded that results of this study giving Centella asiatica extract and Lactobacillus acidophilus extracts affected the total cholesterol and triglyceride levels of hybrid ducks.
