Abstract

The aim of this study to investigate the effect of P. buxifolius leafpowder dietary as feed Supplement an on liver function and haemological response quail (C. coturnix japonica). This study aims to examine the effects of P. buxifolius leaf powder as feed supplement on liver function and haemological responce of quail challenged with Newcastle disease (ND) virus. One hundreddayold quail were acclimatized for 14 days in collective bamboos cages and then selected 75 quails female which have same weight relatively, randomized and transferred to individual cages. At the age of 15 day, quails were divided into 5 group and each group diet commercialfeed mixed 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8% leaf powder P. buxifolius. At the age of 47 days, all quails were infected by vilogenic ND virus Serological effect in term of aspartate amino transferase (AST) and alanine amino transferase (ALT) and haemological response in term of leukocyte and lymphocyte of blood quails was evaluated at 45 and 75 day of age quail. It is also significantly decreased AST and ALT and influenced total leukocyte and lymphocyte of blood quails. Leaf powders oƒP . buxifolius have high potential to protect poultry from ND virus attacks and prevent the spread of the virus disease. Orally administration of P. buxifolius leaf powder with proportion 4-6% in feed does not couse liver damage, infection and inflammation in the body quail Keywords : Serology, hematology, C. coturnix japonica Phyllanthus buxifolius and Newcastle disease
