Abstract

The unfairness of income distribution that occurs to brick workers has resulted in economic inequality so that it is very influential in the level of welfare of the workers, this welfare is then combined with the concept of Islamic welfare has become a solution because welfare is not only measured in terms of material but also immaterial. This study aims to determine, understand and analyze the achievement of maslahah welfare by brick workers who are in Pakem Kulon Hamlet as the goal of maqashid sharia. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method with a case study approach. There are three types of data collection techniques used in this study, namely observation, documentation, and interviews. As the data analysis technique, namely reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data was carried out by using the data validation test by using triagulation of sources and triagulation of techniques. The informants in this study were workers of the red brick industry in Pakem Kulon Hamlet. The results of this study found that the workers have not been able to achieve welfare that is maslahah, namely welfare which is not only measured in terms of material alone but also in terms of spirituality. This is evident that in maintaining the five elements of maqashid sharia, the workers have not carried out according to the indicators used by researchers, namely the maqashid sharia indicator. Meanwhile, according to the BKKBN indicators, the families of the workersthe fall into the category of not prosperous families because it does not meet one of the indicators of a prosperous family from the welfare indicator according to the BKKBN.
