Abstract
A translator should use proper methods and strategies while translating fiction books from the source language in order to get a good and acceptable translation result. The most important point to remember while translating a book is that the translator must maintain the message that the sender wants to convey to the receiver. In this final report, the methods are based on Newmark theory, while the strategies are based on Suryawinata and Hariyanto theory. These were used to analyse a 195-page book entitled Stories for Rainy Days Volume II by Naela Ali. According to the results, there are three methods were identified: literal translation, semantic translation, and free translation. Meanwhile, subtraction, transposition, and borrowing are four significant strategies that were used in the translation process.
