Abstract
This study aims to determine the strategies and methods used in translating the novel entitled "Daddy-Long-Legs" by Jean Webster. This research discussed translation methods and strategies in novel entitled "Daddy-Long-Legs" in English to Indonesian. The purpose of this research are to identify and understand well the methods and strategies used in translating the novel. From the existing data collection, one method was found in translating the novel, namely the Semantic Translation, and found four strategies used in this study, namely; Notes, Addition, Transference, and Transposition. In this research, there are several obstacles experienced by the writer, in determining which methods and strategies are suitable for translating the text in the novel, because in translating a text, accuracy in the target language is the most important. The added value that can be taken in this research are; first, it can added insight to the writer because some words have their own meaning in the source language, second, the methods and strategies help the writer in making results that are natural and close to the reader. This research is expected to provide valuable input for studies in translation in the future.
