Abstract
This study deals with Indonesian K-Pop fan girl in Surabaya’s life story structured by Labovian Narrative. Indonesian K-Pop fan girl is one kind of phenomena that happened in our social life style, especially in Surabaya. It means, she usually faces unique problems such as their self-identity and the social system around. In a bigger picture, the study will help giving a more detailed account about what actually goes on inside fan culture as a society’s youth culture. In other side, narrative is called as one way of reporting past events. The Labovian narrative contains six elements of the narrative structure; abstract, orientation, complicating action, evaluation, resolution, and coda. The study aims to find the indication that different culture will make a difference or similarity to its narrative structure. The data on this study was collected through an interview of K-Pop fan girl’s life story that tells about the past events of the Indonesian K-Pop fan girl. The researcher asks the interviewee some questions as the data collection. Then, the data is recorded and transcribed into written form. The written data is analyzed by using Labov’s narrative structure. Finally, the researcher can draw from the findings about the difference of Indonesian K-Pop fan girl’s narrative structure to Labov’s narrative structure. The findings show that a happy-life story that becomes the K-Pop fan girl’s theme of her life story. This theme is different from the people’s opinion about fans.
