Abstract
The pwposes of this study were to evaluate and to analyze the antiretroviraI
(ARV) utilization in mY/AIDS patients who were hospitalized during January 1 st,
2004 until January 1st
, 2006 at Deparbnent of Infection Disease Intennediet Cure-Dr.
Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya. This study used descriptively analysis by using
retrospective data from patient's medical record. The results showed that ARV which
most used was the fIrst line included lamiwdinel3TC (32,62%), zidovudinel AZT
(32,09%), nevirapineINVP (30,48%)%) and the combination which mostly used was
zidowdin + lamiwdin + nevirapin (82,43%). The major antimicrobial prescribing were
cotrimoxazole (13,40%), ceftriaxon (10,14%), levofloxacin (7,61%) dan antifungi:
nistatine (11,23%), ketoconazole (7,61%), fluconazole (6,88%). From this study, over
90% patients confonned to WHO guidelines (ARV was recommended to patient Stage
m and IV based on the levels of CD4+ T Lymphocytes count). There were 20% patient
which changing or stopping ARV because adverse drug reaction.
