Abstract

Progressive Systemic Sclerosis (PSS) is a disorder of conaective tissue leadiug to fibrosis, vascular lesions and immunologic abnormalities that involves the skin and a variety of internal oreans ( gastrointesti¬nal tract, lunes, heart and kidney ) (314,5111). Since Coetz uned the term "Progressive Systemic Sclerosis" 1n 1945 instead of Scleroderma to indicate that this is not primarily involving the skin but a progressive and eeneralized disease; the role of radiolo¬eist is important for suggesting the correct diaenosis of this disease. Especially if there are characteristic visceral manifestations with little or no skin alteration (10) or the skin chantes being preceded by involve¬ment of internal organs (8). The gastrointestinal tract was the most coxmonly involved visce¬ral oreans especially esophaeus (3,5,8). After esophagus, lungs and heart are second in frequency of iaternal involvement (3,5). Lsophageal manifes¬tation of PSS may be demonstrated by roenteenologic examination during that phase of the disease when the patient still has no clinical symptoms on which a diagnosis can be bared (5). We present two cases of PSS with their roenteenographic manifestations
