Abstract
This paper provided elaboration about the analysis of soccer terms taken from English Premier League news in Bahasa Indonesia within Kompas.com website using the Vinay and Darbelnet model of translation procedure. The original idea was to determine the most dominant procedure of translation from Vinay and Darbelnet model. The data is taken from English Premier League news within Bola section on Kompas.com web site, 50 among a hundred news of English Premier League in Bahasa Indonesia, which has an internal link inside the news. After analyzing the data, the finding shows that not all of the translation procedure is used. From borrowing, calque, literal translation, transposition, modulation, equivalence, and also adaptation which are known as Vinay and Darbelnet‟s translation procedures, the finding only show that borrowing, literal translation, equivalence, and adaptation are the ones applied. Furthermore, the most dominant one among those translation procedures is borrowing. In conclusion, it can be inferred that the sport terms within the English Premier League news in Kompas.com mostly translated using borrowing procedure or still in English. It is possible to happen because soccer is not a sport, which originated from Indonesia so it would be best to use the terms in English to keep the essence of the sport itself.
