Abstract

Mass media either printed or online certainly has ideology within it. The readers usually do not realize the existence of the ideology. This study examines the ideology stated implicitly and how it is constructed in the online news media, Tempointeraktif.com related to Nazaruddin case. The source of the data of this study was from the news article in Tempointeraktif.com. The news articles were selected based on theme. The writer limits this study only to four news articles because there are a lot of news article related to Nazaruddin corruption case in establishing wisma atlet. The writer uses socio cognitive approach from van Dijk to analyze the text in the online media. The socio cognitive has three level text analysis, macro, super, and micro structure. The result shows that from the four news articles Tempointeraktif.com consider Nazaruddin as the only guilty side. It can also be interpreted as the ideology of hegemonist occurs in the news articles. It can be seen from the socio cognition, context and text. The socio cognition is determined by the mental awareness of the news officers and it can be seen from the vision and mission of the news office, the context is taken from the opinions shoed in the other news media, the text is the news article in the Tempointeraktif.com. Macrostructure related to the theme of the news articles, the superstructure related to the scheme or the organization of theme in the news article, and microstructure which to the linguistic features like semantics, syntax, stylistics and rhetoric of the news article.
