Abstract
The main objective of this study is to find out how Hidayatullah Magazine is constructing the concept of polygamy by using its articles. Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) proposed by Norman Fairclough is used as the analytical tools. There are three levels of analysis proposed by Fairclough. The first level is the description stage, in this stages, the analysis was conducted by labeling the linguistic or textual context. The second level is the interpretation level. In the interpretation level, the analysis was conducted by seeing the discourse practices dimensions such as the production, distribution and consumption process of the text. The last stage is the explanation level. In the explanation level, the text was analyzed by relating it to the socio-cultural background of the text.The writer found out that Hidayatullah online magazine is having a certain biased and taking side as the proponents of polygamy. The articles are used to construct the concept of polygamy from something unacceptable become something acceptable. The sources of the data are taken from the polygamy articles in Hidayatullah.com. This study took three articles as the main data.
