Abstract

The speakers of any languages around the world, there is a variation in the way that they use their language. When discuss about language, it would be has a connection with inconsistencies circumstances. Language variations are forms of a language used by people of a language where there are various social interactions among region, class, ethnic group, age, and gender. Language variation are the object of sociolinguistics which are the result of the relationship between language and social factors, such age, sex, education, social status, social occasion, professional occupation, and other factors. The purpose of this study is to investigate the patterns of language choice in the family, friendship, religion, and education and also to investigate what influences this choice. This study examined the patterns of language choice by family in Plemahan through questionnaire survey and data was analyzed. The findings reveal that language choices in domains are varies. It also found that most of social factors and social interactions have the most influences in the patterns of language choice and use of language.
