Abstract

Perdana, Aditya. A Study on Word Formation Processes of Gay Words Found in "GAYa NU SANTARA" Magazines. A thesis submitted as partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Sarjana Degree of the English Department, Faculty of Humanities, Airlangga University. Indonesia has many local languages each of which has its own unique structure. The writer experienced that when he read an article in gay magazine, he did not understand the meaning of certain words used in the magazines. He was faced with difficulty in understanding and translating the meaning of those words. Like other languages, the gay words are also formed through linguistic processes which word formation processes.
