A cross sectional study was conducted at the dental section of public health service on Taman, Sidoarjo in a month period. This study was performed on a group of 100 patients, who were periodontally evaluated. The periodontal variable studied was the papillary bleeding index (PBI). It's correlation with other demographic variables were also evaluated too. Results. The results suggest that PBI score among those patients were very good. Gingival injlammation was associated with PBI, where men had higher score compared to women (0.25 to 0.085). PBI score decreased along with higher education. Meanwhile the highest mean of PBI score (0.28) was found at 41-50 years old age group. Conclusion. The examined patients in this study had a very good PBI score mean «1.3). PBI score was related to risk assessment, including gender, age, and socioeconomic.
