Abstract

Background. Many studies use immersion in liquid substances within different as a method to measure various physical and mechanical properties of dental materials. However, these conditions differ when saliva or other liquid materials were in the human oral cavity. Saliva flow was certainly out periodically through the duct indirect teeth submerged in saliva. . Then came the idea to use a more appropriate method of hatching the physiological state of the oral cavity. droplets use hybrid composites with liquid acid. Acid caused degradation / damage to the surface of composite resins. So the researcher wanted to know the differences between solubility hybrid type composite restorative materials on the hatching and artificial saliva immersion pH 4 as a preliminary study to be developed for the advancement of science.Purpose. The aim of this study was to know the difference between the solubility in hybrid composite type in droplets with pH 4 artificial saliva and pH 4 artificial saliva immersion. Method. the method of this study was experimental laboratories research. About 14 samples of composite was formed with 5mm diameters and 3mm thickness. Group 1, samples was immersed in artificial saliva with pH 4 for one week. Group 2, samples was dropped in artificial saliva with pH 4 for one week. All samples of each groups were examined by reducing the final weight afier treatment minus initial weight. Result. There was significant differences between the drops of pH 4 artificial saliva and the immersion of pH 4 artificial saliva on hybrid composite solubility. Conclusion. The saliva droplets in composit hybrid showed more great solubility than saliva immersion.
